Welcome, and thank you for being a member of DeerTexas.com!  Here are a few tips:

  1. You will know that you’re properly logged when you notice a new “Membership” button on the menu bar.
  2. You may cancel your membership at any time.  Just hover your cursor over “About” on the menu bar, select “Frequently Asked Questions” from the dropdown menu, then follow the instructions in paragraph 2.
  3. The most recent lease ads can always be seen by hovering your cursor over the “Dashboard > Members” button, then clicking the “Hunting Leases” button on the new drop-down menu.  Once you’ve browsed the entire website and you’ve logged out, you may come back to the site, daily if you wish, and click the “Hunting Leases” button on the menu bar.  This will enable you to efficiently stay abreast of the latest ads without having to log in every time.
  4. Next, you may click “Search Listings” on the same drop-down menu and input specifics about what you’re looking for.
  5. The “Geographical Search” provides you a color-coded map of the 7 different geographical regions in Texas.  Simply select a region, then select a county in that region to see all the ads currently listed in that county.
  6. The “Search by County” option allows you to search through an alphabetical list of all 254 counties in Texas.

A couple more tips…  Always call an advertiser if they included their phone number.  It’s more direct and you’re not relying on them to reply by email.  Some landowners don’t check their email often or regularly.  Also, you may see an ad that appears to be older. If it looks like a lease you might be interested in, call the landowner anyway. Sometimes new openings pop up on older places.  If not, but it looks like something that would be a fit for you and your hunting party, ask the landowner to call you if he has something open up in the future.

Please know that all lease advertisers have the ability to edit or delete their own ads at any time.  If you hear a complaint from an advertiser that their listing is old, please encourage them to remove it to avoid further unwanted calls and to prevent other hunters from wasting their time.  You may also inform me and I’ll remove it if they don’t.

There’s a lot more useful information to be found on the FAQ page and in the Blog.  Reading it will help most in their searches.

I hope you find this information useful. I understand that finding a new lease can be a daunting task, but patience and diligence will pay off.  Please let me know if you have difficulty with anything or if you ever have any questions. I’m always happy to assist you.

Thanks again, and good hunting!
