Here are the three bucks we killed this weekend on our group hunt:

Monte Jolley 155 B&C

Ken Gooch 148 B&C

Me - 137 P&Y

Six bucks were killed last weekend, the largest a 163 class toad killed by John Gray. The smallest of those 6 were two in the 130's. Will post more pics when they become available.

Scott - great bucks, good job. Was this a group hunt that you set up or a private one?

Any word on how the guys out in LaSalle made out this weekend?

I stopped in on em yesterday on my way home and they had a 120 class 8 point hanging and were still hunting the second buck. All I know for sure right now is that they both ended up killing bucks and were very pleased with their hunt. Haven't seen the second buck they killed yet. I know they were seeing pigs too, but don't know if they killed any yet.

Scott we had a great time. My friend Tony killed a 9 point buck (small rack). Bob and Kristy were great hosts and I'm sure there are bigger bucks out there than the ones we killed. I saw a few hogs but too big for what I was looking for. 70-90lbs is what I wanted. Meals, lodging, sitting by the fire, beer and relaxation is what we were really looking for. The deer hunting was incidental. Great time was had and would recommend it to anyone.

Glad y'all had a good time, domsaflyer! No yotes or bobcats either? Did y'all try calling em?

Regarding the McMullen County hunt, I expect that one, if it happens again, will be filled by repeat hunters. They're already standing in line. Watch the board though. If there is another opportunity like that one, it will be posted. smile

There are lots of both there. I think they are a little call shy, though. I've seen a few yotes, but always just passing glances through the brush. They've killed several bobcats out there, and I think TX Rattler saw one recently but couldn't get an arrow to it through the brush.
